Background
Corporate Telecommunications is an International Distributor of telecommunications and associated equipment. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, the company has launched a new brand identity, corporate look and feel, website, together with new warehousing and office space.
Challenge
- Create a new data-driven e-commerce website to encouraging existing account holders to place their orders online
- Deliver a platform allowing Corporate Telecommunications staff to manage the new web presence without needing specialist web skills
- Provide an extensible platform which is capable of supporting a wide variety of promotional and sales initiatives
- Implement the web component of a company-wide re-brand being delivered by marketing specialists SmartStudiosUK Ltd
- Provide a real-time linkage to internal warehousing and order-processing systems.
Solution
Live Expertise used the Live Breeze solution to provide a content management framework which drives the new website, providing full contribution and publication control to Corporate Telecommunications staff.
Features of the project include a launch of a new corporate identity unified across print, web, and email, an improved site structure and layout allowing existing clients to browse and order on-line, taking advantage of discount rates, and a variety of special offer and incentive packages which can be managed by the sales team.
A key part of the solution was the development of a two-way data bridge between the website, and an internal Opera solution used by Corporate Telecommunications to run warehousing, stock control, and accounting functions. Working with Opera specialist JMC IT, Live Expertise were able to create a web-services-based integration that allows a high degree of personalised account management and flexible discount policies delivered via the website.
