News - New Law - does your site comply?
New legislation affects the web community
On 1st January 2007 the First Company Law Amendment Directive became enacted. For the world of e-commerce and electronic communication, this has a number of requirements which need to be acted upon, and affects every organisation which operates a web presence.
At Live Expertise, we've investigated the impact of the new Amendment, and we've identified a number of points which should be checked to make sure your site and electronic communication meet the new requirements. Our understanding is that from the 1st January 2007, all websites and email communications should contain the following:
- Registered Company Name
- Place of Registration
- Registered Office Address
Additionally we understand that your website should also contain
- A contact email address
- Your VAT registration number (even if the website is not being used for e-commerce transactions)
- If your business is a member of a trade or professional association, membership details, including any registration number
While most organisations have some of this information already in their site, we'd recommend you make a quick check to ensure everything is in order.
Why not contact our sales team to discuss help in making your site compliant.
